TT VIRUS INFECTION IN NANJING AREA DETECTED BY POLYAERASE CHAIN REACTION

  • Aim: To investigate the infection of TT virus (TTV) in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province,China. Methods: To apply nested PCR in the detection of TTV DNA in serum sam - ples. Results: of163 cases which have been diagnosed as viral Hepatitis, the total detection rate of TTV DNA was 21. 5%(35/163), of which the detection rates were 13. 3% (4/30) in hepatitis A, 21. 3% (16/75) in hepati tis B, 20. 0% (3/15) in hepatitis C, 5. 3% (1/19) in hepatitis E and 45. 8% (11/24) in nonA to G hepatitis, respectively. Conclusion: TTV infection has been found in Nanging area. TTV maybe the key cause of nonA to G hepa - titis and may have non transfusion transmitted pathway.
