CLINICAL ANALYSIS OF 42 CASES OF RHEGMATOGENOUS RETINAL DETACHMENT

  • The surgical results of 42 cases(42 eyes) of retinal detachment were analyzed. The basic operation were clod -coagulation, scleral buckling and sclera-circular compression. The patients were fol lowed up for 6-24 months after operation The results showed that the surgical repair got success in 37 eyes and failure in 5 eyes. The common causes for the failure were incompact sealing of retinal tears and forming of severe prolifenative vitreoretinopathy. The different operative methods and technical key points were also discussed.
