IDENTIFICATION OF BACTERIAL PROTEIN ANALYSIS AND DRUG RESISTANCE OF ISOLATED STRAINS FROM 56 KLEBSIELLA PNEUMONIAE

  • Fifty -six strains of klebsiella pneumoniae were isolated from stools of diarrhoea pa-tients. Bacterial proteins were examined by sodium dodecyl sulfate - polyac rylamide gel electrophoresis. Sev-enteen. distinct profiles were differentiated. Fourteen percent of 56 strains of K. pneumoniae was resistantto cefazolin. Forty percent (28/56) and forty-seven percent (32/56) strains were resistant to gentamicinand chloramphnicol respectively- The resistant rate was on the rise.
