Effect of stent-assisted coil intracranial embolization in patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms

  • Objective To investigate the effect of stent-assisted coil intracranial embolization in patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms.
Methods A total of 110 patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysm were selected as the study objects. The patients were divided into control group (pure embolization with spring coil, n=55) and study group (stent-assisted embolization with spring coil, n=55) according to the stent assisted method. The operation status, length of hospital stay, nerve function, serum myelin basic protein (MBP) level, clinical efficacy and cerebrospinal fluid inflammatory factor level were compared between the two groups.
Results After surgery, the levels of nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in the two groups were significantly higher than those before surgery, and those in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). After operation, the levels of serum MBP and cerebrospinal fluid interleukin-4 (IL-4), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-8 (IL-8) in two groups were significantly higher than those before operation, and those in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of the study group was 96.36%, which was significantly higher than 83.64% of the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion Stent assisted coil intracranial embolization has a good effect in patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysm, which can improve the nerve function of patients, reduce the level of cerebrospinal fluid inflammation and serum MBP.
