Research progress on classification and treatment of hyperextension tibial plateau fracture

  • Hyperextension tibial plateau fracture is a specific type of fracture caused by violence in hyperextension position of the knee joint. This type of fracture results in compression on the anterior side and traction on the posterior side of the plateau, causing damage to both sides of the knee joint. Treatments should focus on restoring the articular surface, alignment of the lower limb axis, and posterior tilt angle. Necessary repairs for soft tissues can reduce complications and improve prognosis. Currently, there is no unified treatment protocol for hyperextension tibial plateau fracture, and further treatment plans need to be determined based on the fracture classification and status of soft tissue injury.
