Effect of acupuncture and moxibustion by "Fuzheng Butu" method combined with modern rehabilitation training on rehabilitation of patients with hemiplegia after cerebral apoplexy

  • Objective To explore the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion of "Fuzheng-Butu" method combined with modern rehabilitation training on the rehabilitation of patients with hemiplegia after cerebral apoplexy.
Methods A total of 86 patients with hemiplegia after cerebral apoplexy were randomly divided into observation group and control group. The control group was treated with basic treatment of conventional western medicine and modern rehabilitation training, while the observation group was given "Fuzheng-Butu" acupuncture and moxibustion on the basis of the control group. The scores of National Institutes of Health StrokeScale (NIHSS), posture assessment scale (PASS) and Berg Balance Scale (BBS) before and after treatment, clinical efficacy and adverse events were compared between the two groups.
Results The NIHSS scores of the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the observation group had lower NIHSS score than the control group (P < 0.05). The PASS scores and BBS scores of the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment, and were higher in the observation group than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.35%, which was higher than 81.40% of the control group (P < 0.05). The incidence of adverse events in the two groups showed no significant difference (P>0.05).
Conclusion "Fuzheng-Butu" acupuncture and moxibustion combined with modern rehabilitation training has a significant effect in patients with hemiplegia after cerebral apoplexy, and the therapy can effectively improve the neurological function, core muscle function and balance ability of patients.
