Objective To analyze the current status and influencing factors of health-related quality of life in patients with early colorectal cancer (CRC) and precancerous lesions.
Methods According to the principle of convenience sampling, 156 patients with early CRC and precancerous lesions admitted to Shanghai Changzheng Hospital were enrolled. The general conditions of patients were investigated by questionnaires. The health-related quality of life and social support of patients were evaluated by Quality of Life Instruments for Cancer Patients Colorectal Cancer (QLICP-CR) and Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), respectively. The influencing factors of health-related quality of life were analyzed by multivariate linear regression analysis.
Results The average total score of QLICP-CR in patients with early CRC and precancerous lesions was (55.79±4.70) points. There were statistically significant differences in QLICP-CR scores of early CRC and precancerous patients with different gender, age, cultural level, pathological results, monthly economic income, payment method of medical expenses, degree of depression, level of social support, religious belief or not, and underlying diseases or not (P < 0.05). Monthly income, pathological results, combined underlying diseases, depression degree and social support level were influencing factors for health-related quality of life in patients with early CRC and precancerous lesions (t=2.946, 3.157, -8.392, 2.177, 4.383, P < 0.05).
Conclusion The health-related quality of life is poor in patients with early CRC and precancerous lesions. The key influencing factors include economic income, pathological results, underlying diseases, depression degree and social support level.
