Effect of vacuum sealing drainage technique in treatment of patients with skin repair of limb trauma

  •   Objective  To investigate the efficacy of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) technique in treatment of patients with skin repair of limb trauma.
Methods  A total of 80 patients with skin repair of limb trauma were divided into control group (n=33, treated with conventional dressing change) and VSD group (n=47, treated with VSD). Therapeutic effect, improvement of wound area and incidence of complications were compared between two groups.
Results  The total effective rate of the VSD group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). The wound area after treatment in both groups was significantly less than that before treatment, and the wound area after treatment in the VSD group was significantly less than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The incidence of complications in the VSD group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). There was a significant difference in the positive rate of pathogenic specimen between the two groups (P < 0.05). The separation rate of erythromycin in the VSD group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion  VSD has a significant effect in the treatment of patients with skin repair of limb trauma, which can shrink the wound area and cause low drug resistance to wound bacteria.
