Clinical effect of ligustrazine hydrochloride eye nebulization combined with ear tip bloodletting in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy differentiated as qi and yin deficiency

  •   Objective  To observe the clinical efficacy of ligustrazine hydrochloride eye nebulization combined with ear tip bloodletting in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy differentiated as qi and yin deficiency.
Methods  A total of 80 patients with diabetic retinopathy were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional hypoglycemic and improved circulation treatment. In the observation group, ligustrazine hydrochloride injection eye nebulization combined with ear tip bloodletting was added on the basis of the control group. Visual conditions (dry eyes score, blurred vision score, and eyesight), blood glucose related indicatorsfasting blood glucose (FPG), postprandial blood glucose at 2 h (2 hPG) and glycosylated hemoglobin(HbAlc), and fundus conditions (macular central retinal thickness), clinical efficacy and the improvement of TCM syndrome score were compared between the two groups.
Results  The visual function and fundus condition of the two groups were improved after treatment, and the observation group was significantly better than the control group (P < 0.05); after treatment, FPG, 2 hPG, HbAlc of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P < 0.05), but the blood glucose indexes of the observation group showed no statistically significant difference compared with the control group (P>0.05). TCM syndrome score of the two groups was significantly lower after treatment, and the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05). After 3 months of treatment, the total effective rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion  Ligustrazine hydrochloride eye nebulization combined with ear tip bloodletting can improve the symptoms of ocular in patients with diabetic retinopathy of deficiency of both qi and yin, regulate blood glucose-related indicators, and delay the progression of retinal complications.
