Research progress on the regulation of mineralocorticoid receptor by traditional Chinese medicine

  • Mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) is a member of the steroid-responsive nuclear receptor family, which can regulate the transmission of hormone signals and activate the expression of aldosterone target genes. MR-related signal pathways participate in a variety of physiological and pathological reactions involving inflammatory cytokines, growth factors, angiotensin Ⅱ, and oxidative stress. A variety of traditional Chinese herbs and their active ingredients can regulate MR, and in this study, authors reviewed the research progress of MR regulated by traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of related diseases in recent years.
