Effect of labetalol combined with magnesium sulfate in the treatment of pregnancy-induced hypertension and its effect on outcomes of childbirth

  • Objective To investigate the effect of labetalol combined with magnesium sulfate in the treatment of pregnancy-induced hypertension and its effect on outcomes of childbirth. Methods A total of 80 patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension were randomly divided into two groups. The patients in the control group were treated with conventional magnesium sulfate, while those in the labelol group were treated with labelol. The blood pressure, 24 urinary protein, overall treatment effect, body-related indexes, and delivery outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and 24 h urinary protein were significantly lower in the labelolol group than those in the control group(P<0.05); the total effective rate in the labelolol group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05); rates of cesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage, puerperal infection, and asphyxia of newborns were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Labelol combined with magnesium sulfate is effective in the treatment of hypertension during pregnancy, and it can change the outcomes of childbirth, and has higher safety.
