Effect of low-dose aspirin in prevention of adverse pregnancy outcomes in high-risk pregnant women with hypertensive disorders during pregnancy

  • Objective To observe the effect of low-dose aspirin in preventing adverse pregnancy outcomes of high-risk pregnant women with hypertensive disorders during pregnancy(HDP). Methods Totally 84 high-risk pregnant women with hypertensive disorders during pregnancy were divided into control group and observation group according to the intervention plans, with 42 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine prenatal examination, while the observation group was treated with low-dose aspirin treatment on the basis of the control group. The incidence of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy and gestational weeks of onset were compared between the two groups. The amount of postpartum hemorrhage and the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage were compared between the two groups. The incidence rates of low birth weight and neonatal asphyxia were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the gestational week of onset was significantly later than that in the control group(P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the amount of postpartum hemorrhage and the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage between the two groups(P>0.05). The incidence rates of low birth weight and neonatal asphyxia in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Low dose aspirin is safe and effective in the prevention of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, which can reduce the incidence rates of low birth weight and neonatal asphyxia, and reduce the amount of postpartum hemorrhage and the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage.
