Effect observation of dexmedetomidine combined with ropivacaine in postoperative analgesia of children with inguinal hernia repair

  • Objective To explore the effect of dexmedetomidine combined with ropivacaine in postoperative analgesia of children with inguinal hernia repair. Methods Totally 80 children with inguinal hernia repair were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group.The control group was treated with ropivacaine alone, while the observation group was treated with dexmedetomidine and ropivacaine.Score of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)and Ramsay score were compared between two groups at 4, 8, 12, 24 and 48 h after operation.The incidence of postoperative adverse reactions and analgesic satisfaction degree were compared between the two groups. Results The VAS scores at 8, 12, 24 and 48 h after operation in both groups were significantly higher than those in the same group at 4 h after operation, the Ramsay scores at 8, 12, 24 and 48 h in the control group were significantly lower than those in the same group at 4 h after operation, and the VAS scores and Ramsay scores at 8, 12, 24 and 48 h in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 10.00%, which showed no significant difference compared with 15.00% in the control group(P>0.05).The total analgesic satisfaction degree of the observation group was 97.50%, which was significantly higher than 80.00% of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with effect of simple ropivacaine block, dexmedetomidine combined with ropivacaine block shows a better analgesic and sedative effect and a higher safety.
