Value of peripheral vascular stent intervention in treatment of diabetic patients with arteriosclerosis obliterans of lower limbs complicating foot gangrene

  • Objective To investigate the value of peripheral vascular stent intervention in the treatment of diabetic patients with arteriosclerosis obliterans of lower limbs complicating foot gangrene. Methods The clinical data of 32 diabetic patients with arteriosclerosis obliterans of lower limbs complicating foot gangrene who accepted peripheral vascular stent intervention was analyzed retrospectively. The inner diameters, blood flow and ankle brachial indexes(ABI)of superficial femoral artery and iliac artery were compared before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the inner diameters and blood flow of iliac artery and superficial femoral artery were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05); after treatment, the ABI of patients was(0.85±0.32), which was significantly higher than(0.56±0.23)before treatment(P<0.05). Conclusion Peripheral vascular stent intervention for diabetic patients with arteriosclerosis obliterans of lower limbs complicating foot gangrene has significant efficacy in recanalization of blood vessels, and can improve blood supply and clinical symptoms of the affected limb.
