Clinical effect of mild moxibustion combined with acupoint massage in treating diabetic osteoporosis

  •   Objective  To observe the effect of mild moxibustion combined with acupoint massage in treating diabetic osteoporosis (DOP).
Methods  A total of 60 patients with DOP were divided into observation group (30 cases) and control group (30 cases) according to random number table method. The control group was orally treated with alfacalcohol soft capsule, and the observation group was treated with mild moxibustion combined with acupoint massage on the basis of the control group. After 60 days after treatment.Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score was used to evaluate clinical bone pain, Diabetes-specific Quality of Life (DSQL) score was used to evaluate patients′quality of life, clinical efficacy was evaluated by TCM clinical symptom score, and satisfaction questionnaire was used to investigate patients′ satisfaction.
Results  After treatment, the scores of physiological function, psychology/spirit, social relationship and treatment effect of the two groups were decreased, and were significantly lower in the observation group than those in the control group (P < 0.05).The degree of TCM clinical symptom score improvement in the observation group was better than that in the control group (P < 0.01).After treatment, the VAS score of the observation group was significantly lower, and the total satisfaction was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P < 0.01).
Conclusion  Mild moxibustion combined with acupoint massage can effectively improve the TCM clinical symptoms of patients with DOP, and improve the quality of life and treatment satisfaction.
