Effect of static progressive draft combined with joint mobilization in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty

  • Objective To investigate the effect of static progressive splinting(SPS)combined with joint mobilization on Visual Analogue Score(VAS), knee joint range of motion, Knee Scoring System of Hospital for Special Surgery(HSS)in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty(TKA). Methods A total of 75 TKA patients in our hospital were selected by random sampling method. The ball-touching method was adopted to divide these patients into two groups: control group(n=37)given joint mobilization, and study group(n=38 )given SPS combined with joint mobilization. The clinical efficacy of two groups was compared. Results At 4 and 8 weeks after treatment, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score of the study group was lower, and the knee joint range of motion and HSS score were higher than that of the control group(P<0.05); the total effective rate in the study group was 97.37%, which was higher than 78.38%in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion In TKA patients, SPS combined with joint mobilization can relieve pain, improve the knee joint range of motion and joint function, and enhance the curative effect.
