Effect of iRoot BP Plus in caries-derived permanent teeth undergoing partial pulpotomy

  •   Objective  To observe the clinical effect of bioceramics (iRoot BP Plus) applied in caries-derived permanent teeth undergoing partial pulpotomy.
Methods  The iRoot BP Plus was used to perform partial pulp resection in 20 patients with permanent dental pulp penetration. Clinical examination and X-ray examination results were analyzed at one week, three months and one year after operation.
Results  Only one of twenty patients had aggravation of spontaneous pain that required root canal therapy, two cases showed discomfort to mild cold and hot irritation within one week, and the irritation symptoms were gradually relieved after the resin edge was retouched and bonded. Follow-up results after one year showed that the success rate of iRoot BP Plus in partial myelotomy was 95.00%, and patients′ satisfaction reached grade A.
Conclusion  The application of bioceramic material (iRoot BP Plus) in caries-induced partial pulp resection has a good short-term clinical effect and high satisfaction for patients.
