Progress in application of lidocaine in thoracoscopic lung cancer surgery

  • The clinical application and pharmacological researches of thoracic surgery have been advanced with the widespread application of thoracoscopic technology in patients with lung cancer. It is found that it not only has the effects of local anesthesia and ventricular arrhythmia prevention, but also plays roles in postoperative analgesia, relieving stress reactions, anti-inflammation, lungs protection, anti-tumor in lungs, enhancing the sensitivity to anti-cancer drugs, and decreasing postoperative cognitive impairment (POCD). This review elucidated the advantages of intravenous infusion of lidocaine during thoracoscopic lung cancer resection so as to optimize the management of patients with thoracoscopic lung cancer under general anesthesia and improve their prognosis.
