Open oophorocystectomy versus laparoscopic oophorocystectomy in treatment of benign ovarian cyst

  • Objective To compare the clinical effect of open oophorocystectomy and laparoscopic oophorocystectomy in treatment of benign ovarian cyst. Methods A total of 240 patients with benign ovarian cyst were selected and divided into two groups according to surgical plans, named as control group(n=120, treated by open oophorocystectomy)and observation group(n=120, treated by laparoscopic oophorocystectomy). Surgical indicators, incidence of complications and degree of pain were compared between the two groups. Results The blood loss, exhaust time and hospitalization time of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group, and the VAS score at 3 d after operation was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05). The incidence rate of postoperative complications in the observation group was 1.67%, which was significantly lower than 10.83% in the control group(P<0.05). The levels of follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the level of estradiol was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with open oophorocystectomy, laparoscopic oophorocystectomy has the advantages of fewer traumas, faster recovery, less postoperative pain and less impact on ovarian function.
