Effect of vinpocetine combined with sodium chloride injection in the treatment of cerebral infarction patients with severe hypertension

  • Objective To investigate the clinical effect of vinpocetine combined with sodium chloride injection in treatment of cerebral infarction patients with severe hypertension. Methods Eighty-six cerebral infarction patients with severe hypertension were divided into two groups by random double-blind method, named as control group(n=43, treated with sodium chloride injection)and observation group(n=43, treated with vinpocetine and sodium chloride injection). Neurological function indexes, hemorheology indexes and interleukin level were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.35%, which was significantly higher than 74.42% of the control group(P < 0.05). The score of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)in both groups was significantly lower than that before treatment, and the score of NIHSS in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P < 0.05). After treatment, the whole blood high-sheared viscosity, erythrocyte aggregation index and hematocrit of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and these indexes in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of interleukin-12(IL-12)and interleukin-23(IL-23)in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and the levels of these indexes in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05). Conclusion Vinpocetine combined with sodium chloride injection is safe and effective in the treatment of cerebral infarction patients with severe hypertension, which can significantly improve the neurological function and hemorheological indexes.
