Progress on clinical application of whole-body diffusion weighted imaging in multiple myeloma

  • Multiple myeloma is a malignant clonal disease of plasma cells, whole-body diffusion weighted imaging(WB-DWI)can evaluate the focal lesions of the whole skeleton system in a short time, effectively improve the detection rate of MM lesions, and is characterized by wide range of evaluation and relatively low check cost. Therefore, it is suggested that WB-DWI should be widely used in the primary screening and efficacy evaluation of MM. This article reviewed advantages and disadvantages of WB-DWI versus other traditional imaging and its application in MM.
