Application of postoperative responsible nursing for patients with limb fracture

  •   Objective  To analyze the effect of perioperative responsible nursing on Quality of Life (QOL) score, anxiety and fracture healing in limb fracture patients.
Methods  A total of 104 patients with limb fracture in our hospital were randomly divided into routine group (n=52) and experimental group (n=52). The routine nursing adopted conventional group in operating room, while responsible nursing was adopted in experimental group. QOL score, Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) score, incidence of complications during hospitalization and nursing quality in operating room were compared between two groups.
Results  HAMA score and incidence of complications during hospitalization in experimental group were significantly lower than those in conventional group (P < 0.05), and QOL score, scores of equipment preparation, disinfection treatment and coordination in operating room in experimental group were significantly higher than those in conventional group (P < 0.05). Healing time of fracture in experimental group was significantly shorter than that in conventional group(P < 0.05).
Conclusion  Perioperative responsible nursing can effectively reduce the incidence of infection and other complications in patients with limb fracture during hospitalization, improve patients′ quality of life and enhance the quality of nursing in operating room.
