Influence of mother-infant rooming-in nursing mode for puerperas and infants

  •   Objective  To explore the influence of mother-infant rooming-in nursing mode for puerperas and infants nursing.
Methods  A total of 130 puerperas who delivered successfully in our hospital from January to December 2018 were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 65 cases in each group. The control group was given routine neonatal care, while the observation group was given mother-infant rooming-in nursing mode. The nursing ability of newborns and the adaptation of mother's role between the two groups were compared. Self-made nursing quality questionnaire was used to evaluate the satisfaction of the two groups.
Results  The qualified rate of newborn diaper replacement, umbilical nursing, feeding method and shower were 96.92%, 92.31%, 93.85% and 86.15%, respectively, in the observation group, which were higher than 86.15%, 75.38%, 81.54% and 69.23%, respectively, in the control group (P < 0.05). The role adaptation of mother was better than that in the control group(P < 0.05). The scores of nursing service quality questionnaire and satisfaction rate in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion  Nurse-maternal joint participation in maternal-infant ward can enhance the ability of maternal care for neonates and the role adaptability of mothers, and improve the satisfaction of obstetric nursing quality.
