Clinical analysis of endoscopic submucosal dissectionfor giant wide-pedicled polyp in large intestine

  •   Objective  To analyze the efficacy, safety and value of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) in the treatment of giant wide-pedicle polyps in large intestine.
      Methods  A total of 50 patients with giant wide-pedicled polyp in large intestine in Wujin Hospital in Jiangsu Province and Changzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2015 to May 2019 were divided into observation group and control group according to the varied treatment methods. The observation group(n=20) was treated with ESD, while the control group (n=20) was given non-ESD treatment. The intraoperative bleeding rate, delayed bleeding rate at one week after operation, complete rate for one-time resection and operative time were compared between the two groups.
      Results  The intraoperative bleeding rate in the observation group was lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The complete rate for one-time resection in the observation group was higher, and the average operation time in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group.
      Conclusion  ESD has the advantages of accurate treatment, small trauma and low intraoperative bleeding rate in the treatment of wide-pedicle polyps.
