Clinical significance of high frequency ultrasound combinedwith CT in diagnosis of thyroid papillary carcinoma

  •   Objective  To explore the clinical significance of high frequency ultrasound combined with CT in the diagnosis of thyroid papillary carcinoma.
Methods  The clinical data of 93 suspected thyroid papillary carcinoma patients in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed, among whom 69 cases were confirmed by surgical pathology examination. Preoperative high frequency ultrasound and CT examination were performed. Taking pathological results of surgery as diagnostic criteria, the diagnostic efficacy of high frequency ultrasound, CT diagnosis and combined examination were compared.
Results  The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of high-frequency ultrasound and CT in combination were 98.55%, 91.67% and 96.77%, respectively, which were higher than high-frequency ultrasound (86.96%, 62.50% and 80.65%, respectively) and CT diagnosis(85.51%, 58.33%, 78.49%, respectively) (P < 0.05); the detection rates of microcalcification and lymph node metastasis by examination of high-frequency ultrasound and CT in combination were higher than that by examination alone(P < 0.05).
Conclusion  High frequency ultrasonography and CT in thyroid papillary carcinoma examination have high diagnostic efficiency.
