Efficiency analysis of flow continuous positiveairway pressure ventilator in treating neonatal hyaline membrane disease

  •   Objective  To investigate the efficacy of flow continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) ventilator in the treatment of hyaline membrane disease in newborns.
Methods  Totally 200 neonates with hyaline membrane disease were divided into study group (flow CPAP ventilator treatment) and control group simultaneous intermittent mandatory ventilation (SIMV) treatment, with 100 cases in each group. The total effective rate, incidence of adverse reactions, dyspnea score, treatment time and changes of pulmonary function indexes were compared between the two groups.
Results  There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). The total effective rate and dyspnea score of the study group were higher than those of the control group, the duration of ventilator use, oxygen supply and hospitalization time were shorter than those of the control group, the pH value and partial pressure of carbon dioxide were lower than those of the control group, the arterial partial pressure of oxygen and peak value of respiratory flow were higher than those of the control group, and all these differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05).
Conclusion  The flow CPAP ventilator is effective in treating hyaline membrane disease in newborns.
