Correlation between levels of adiponectin, leptin, resistin and insulin resistance in gestational diabetes mellitus during third trimester

  • Objective To observe the relationship between levels of adiponectin(ADP),lep-tin(LEP),resistin and insulin resistance (IR)in the third trimester of gestation diabetes mellitus (GDM)patients. Methods 64 GDM patients were selected as observation group, while 60 normal pregnancy women without GDM were collected as control group.Differences of lipid metabolism related indexes, serum ADP,LEP,resistin levels between two groups were observed and analyzed for the cor-relation with insulin resistance index (IRI).Results Level of ADP in observation group was signifi-cantly lower than the control group (P<0.01 ),LEP,resistin and IRI were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.01).Correlation analysis showed ADP was negatively correlated with IRI and positively correlated with resistin and IRI (P<0.01 ).Conclusion Increasing of LEP,re-sistin and decreasing of ADP potentially shows a correlation with insulin résistance in GDM patients during third trimester, and LEP and resistin are two potential independent risk factors of IR.
