Expression and significance of ET-1 and CXCR4 protein in human brain glioma

  • Objective To explore the expression and significance of ET-1 and CXCR4 pro-tein in human brain glioma. Methods Immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the ex-pressions of ET-1 and CXCR4 protein in human brain glioma and normal cerebral tissues, and the re-sult was analyzed by the image system. Results The expressions of ET-1 and CXCR4 protein in glio-ma tissues of different malignant grades were significantly different.Higher expressions of ET-1 and CXCR4 were associated with poor prognosis. The expression levels of ET-1 and CXCR4 protein in glio-ma of gradeⅠ ~Ⅱ and Ⅲ ~Ⅳ were higher than those in normal cerebral tissues (P <0.01),and the ET-1 and CXCR4 protein level in glioma of grade Ⅲ ~Ⅳ was higher than those in glioma of gradⅠ ~Ⅱ.Conclusion ET-1 and CXCR4 protein have been detected in human glioma and normal cerebral tissues, and the expression of ET-1 and CXCR4 protein in human glioma is higher, which might be closely related to the occurrence and development of glioma. The staining intensity of the positive nu-clei of ET-1 and CXCR4 can evaluate the prognosis and reflect the malignant grade of glioma.
