Effect comparison between minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosyn-thesis and interlocking intramedullary nailing in treatment of patients with tibial fractures

  • Objective To compare the clinical efficacy between MIPPO and IIN in treat-ment of patients with tibial fractures. Methods 100 patients with tibial fractures were divided into IIN group and MIPPO group,50 cases in each group.Surgical efficacy and incidence rate of compli-cations were compared between two groups. Results After surgery, there was no significant differ-ence of clinical efficacy between two groups, but there were significant differences of incision length, blood loss and operating time between two groups (P <0.05).The incidence rate of com-plications in IIN group was 16%,which was significantly higher than 6% in MIPPO group.Con-clusion Both MIPPO and IIN have a lot of advantages in treatment of tibial fractures, and it is beneficial for patients by correct selection of indications.
