The expression and significance of serum cytokines in elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis

  • Objective To analyze the expression of serum IL-33,IL-13,IL-4 and IFN-γin elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis and the correlation between RA score and cytokines. Methods Clinical materials of patients with RA were retrospectively analyzed, and they were di-vided into observation group (RA patients)and control group (normal volunteers)according to the treatment. The expressions of serum IL-33,IL-13,IL-4 and IFN-γbetween two groups and the correlation between RA score and cytokines were analyzed. Results A total of 70 patients were ret-rospective analyzed, including 38 cases in observation group and 32 cases in control group. The lev-els of IL-33,IL-13,IL-4 and IFN-γin observation group were significantly higher than those in control group. There was a linear correlation between RA score and te level of IL-33 and IL-13. Conclusion Several RA serum cytokines, including IL-33,IL-13,IL-4 and IFN-γsignificantly in-crease.The detection of serum cytokines such as IL-33,IL-13 can be applied to assess the severity of the progress of RA.
