Nursing observation of antibiotic prophylaxis in patients with type I incision operation

  • Objective To explore the application value of antibiotic prophylaxis in patients with type I incision operation. Methods 100 patients with type I incision operation were random-ly divided into the observation group and the control group, the control group didn’t use antibiotics before operation while the observation group was given antibiotic prophylaxis, body temperature, experimental data and postoperative incision were compared between the two groups. Results The difference was not statistical significant in the temperature of the 1st day,2nd day and 3rd day af-ter operation in the observation group compared with the control group (P >0.05).The difference was not statistical significant in peripheral white blood cell count, infection rate and the class-A healing rate in the observation group compared with the control group (P >0.05).The difference was statistically significant since neutrophils in the observation group was less than that in the con-trol group (P <0.05),but they were all in the normal range. Conclusion Antibiotic prophylaxis couldn’t reduce the occurrence rate of incision infection for patients with type I incision operation, so the use of prophylactic antibiotics is not advocated.
