Influence of denervation of sympathetic nerve on metabolism of lipid and hormone in rats

  • Objective To explore the influence of sympathetic denervation of the liver on me-tabolism of lipid and hormone in the normal and chemically-injured liver in rats. Methods Liver in-jured rats were obtained by using CCl4 .Denervation of sympathetic nerve was achieved by injection of 6-OHDA (2 mL,100 mg/L)and the mesenteric vein of jejunum loop.Experimental group was treated with CCl4 after injecting 6-OHDA.Control group was treated with a sham operation. After 7 days, the serum levels of triglyceride (TG),total cholesterol (Tch),cortisol(Cor),aldosterone(ALD)and im-munoreactive insulin(IRI)were detected in every group. Results The liver function of the rats with acute liver injury decreased. After the denervation of sympathetic nerve, the serum levels of TG and Tchin the experimental group were higherthan the liverinjury model group Control group :TG(1 .2 2 ± 0.18)μmol /L,Tch(2.37 ±0.29)μmol /L,liver injury model group:TG (0.87 ±0.09)μmol /L, Tch(1 .47 ±0 .2 1 )μmol /L(P <0 .05 ).Experimentalgroup:TG(1 .05 ±0 .04 )μmol /L,Tch (1.96 ±0.06)μmol /L.Compared with the control group, the serum levels of Cor and ALD in the experimental group and the liver injury model group increased significantlyControl group:Cor(9.5 ± 3.4)μg/L,ALD(196.5 ±47.3)ng/L.Liver injury model group:Cor(28.3 ±5.6)μg/L,ALD (65 1 .6 ±82 .3 )ng /L.Experimentalgroup :Cor(20 .9 ±4 .2 )μg /L,ALD(47 1 .73 ±72 .9 ) (P <0 .05 ).SerumlevelofIRI inthe liverinjurymodelgroupwas(20 .37 ±5 .5 7 )mIU /L,which was significantly higher than (12.48 ±3.03)mIU /L in the control group(P <0.05).Simultane-ously,the serum level of IRI in the experimental group was(29.39 ±7.67)mIU /L,which was sig-nificantly higher (P <0.05)than both the blank control group and the liver injury model group. Sympathetic denervation had a beneficial effect on the anabolism of TG and Tch,metabolism of ALD and Cor.Conclusion Sympathetic denervation can promote the recovery of liver function in acute chemically-injured liver.
