Effect observation of ear holographic copper needle scraping combined with bloodletting on ear apex in the treatment of patients with constipation differentiated as type of heat stagnation in intestinal tract after stroke

  • Objective To analyze the clinical effect of ear holographic copper needle scraping combined with bloodletting on ear apex in the treatment of patients with constipation differentiated as type of heat stagnation in intestinal tract after stroke.
Methods A total of 120 patients with constipation differentiated as type of heat stagnation in intestinal tract after stroke were randomly divided into control group and study group, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with ear holographic copper needle scraping, while the study group was treated with additional bloodletting on ear apex on the basis of the control group. The clinical effect as well as score of TCM syndromes, score of the Patient Assessment of Constipation Symptom (PAC-SYM), blood pressure level and score of the Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life (PAC-QOL) before and after treatment were compared between two groups.
Results The effective rate of constipation improvement in the study group was 96.67%, which was significantly higher than 76.67% in the control group (P < 0.05). After intervention, the scores of the PAC-SYM and TCM syndrome in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). After the intervention, the systolic and diastolic blood pressures in both groups decreased significantly, and the systolic and diastolic blood pressures in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). After 2 and 4 weeks of intervention, the PAC-QOL scores in both groups showed a decreasing trend, and the PAC-QOL scores after 2 and 4 weeks of intervention in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion Ear holographic copper needle scraping combined with bloodletting on ear apex has significant effect in the treatment of patients with constipation differentiated as type of heat stagnation in intestinal tract after stroke, which can enhance the therapeutic effect.
