Clinical pathway of ketogenic diet in the treatment of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome

  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common gynecological endocrine disease, which is characterized by hyperandrogen, persistent anovulation and polycystic ovarian changes, and it can easily lead to infertility in women with childbearing age. The etiology of PCOS is still unclear, and obesity and other metabolic diseases are closely related to PCOS. Lifestyle intervention is the preferred basic treatment for PCOS, and weight loss is an effective therapeutic method. Compared with the traditional diet, ketogenic diet can rapidly reduce body weight. Based on the Chinese expert consensus of ketogenic diet intervention in polycystic ovary syndrome (2018) and previous relevant research results, this study formulates the clinical pathway of ketogenic diet in the treatment of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome in order to provide clinical standards for the ketogenic treatment of PCOS.
