Application of "tunnel" directed surgical platform in calcaneal surgery

  •   Objective  To explore the application value of "tunnel" directed calcaneal surgery platform.
Methods  Totally 43 patients with calcaneal surgery from March 2016 to December 2017 were selected as control group, and they were treated with traditional lateral position for calcaneal surgery. Another 47 patients with calcaneal surgery from January 2018 to December 2019 were selected as experimental group, and they were treated with "tunnel" directed platform for calcaneal surgery. The general information and operation effect were compared between the two groups.
Results  There was no significant difference in general information between the two groups (P>0.05). The patients in the control group had sliding and instability of the affected limb during the operation, while the patients in the experimental group had stable limbs without sliding; the case with the instrument slipped off the operating table in the control group was more than that in the experimental group; the number of satisfied patients in the control group was less than that in the experimental group; the operation time in the control group was longer than that in the experimental group; there were significant differences in the above indexes between the two groups (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in body placement time between the two groups (P=0.774). In this study, another 30 healthy volunteers were selected to experience the comfort of the traditional lateral position pad and the calcaneal operation platform. The volunteers believed that the calcaneal operation platform was more comfortable (P < 0.05).
Conclusion  The "tunnel" directed calcaneal surgery platform can solve the problems of limb sliding, unstable limb during fluoroscopy, instrument sliding and so on, and it has the advantage of high comfort, which can greatly improve the satisfaction degree of doctors and nurses.
