Effect observation of acupoint application with traditional Chinese medicine combined with pressing acupoints by fingers in treatment of children with cough

Objective To observe the clinical effect of acupoint application with traditional Chinese medicine combined with pressing acupoints by fingers in treatment of children with cough. Methods Totally 200 children with cough were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 100 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional drugs, while the observation group was treated with acupoint application of traditional Chinese medicine and pressing acupoints by fingers. The therapeutic effect, disappearance time of cough, disappearance time of lung rales and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). The disappearance time of cough and lung rales in the observation group were significantly shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion Acupoint application of traditional Chinese medicine combined with pressing acupoints by fingers is effective in the treatment of children with cough, which can effectively improve the cough symptoms of children.
