Analysis in efficiency of long-term antibacterial and skin care functions in different types of washing-free disinfectants

Abstract
Objective To compare the long-term antibacterial function of washing-free disinfectants with different types of alcohol-containing compound formula system. Methods Washing-free disinfectants with different types of alcohol-containing compound formula system were selected(A, B, C, D, E and F). According to the optimal dosage of 0.5 to 5.0 mL in each type, the field tests of hand disinfection were carried out. Change of bacterial colony growth of hand skin with extension of time after disinfection was observed, and the skin moisturizing effect of washing-free disinfectants with different types of compound formula system were compared at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 h after hand disinfection. Results Washing-free disinfectants with components of ethanol, synergist, antibacterial film-forming agent and skin care agent were able to keep low colony forming units at 4 hours after hand disinfection, and its average killing log value could reach the requirement of ≥1. The antibacterial and skin moisturizing functions when these washing-free disinfectants mentioned above prepared with benzalkonium chloride or chlorhexidine gluconate active disinfectant could last for more than 6 hours. Conclusion The disinfectantscomposed of ethanol, benzalkonium chloride, chlorhexidine gluconate, synergist, antibacterial film-forming agent and skin care agent have long-term antibacterial and skin moisturizing functions, which can last for more than 6 hours.
