Nursing intervention for patients with postherpetic neuralgia

  • Objective To investigate the effects of pain nursing intervention on pain degree and quality of life in patients with postherpetic neuralgia. Methods A total of 120 patients with postherpetic neuralgia were selected and randomly divided into study group and control group, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing care, and the study group was given pain nursing intervention. The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score, Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30(QLQ-C30)and nursing satisfaction of the two groups were recorded and analyzed. Results The VAS score in the study group was significantly lower, and the quality of life was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Pain nursing intervention can alleviate the pain of patients with postherpetic neuralgia, improve the quality of life and nursing satisfaction.
