Postoperative enteral nutrition nursing for patients with radical operation for gastric cancer

  • Objective To explore the effect of different nutritional nursing on postoperative nutritional status of patients with radical operation for gastric cancer. Methods A total of 96 patients undergoing radical gastric cancer surgery in our hospital were selected as study objects, and were divided into observation group(n=48)and control group(n=48)by random number table method. The control group carried out parenteral nutrition nursing, while patients in the observation group were given enteral nutrition nursing. The levels of nutrition indexes in the two groups after treatment were compared, the postoperative recovery of two groups was observed, and the incidence of complications was compared. Results After treatment, the levels of serum protein, hemoglobin, and prealbumin were significantly higher in the observation group than those in the control group(P<0.05). The recovery time of bowel function, defecation time, and hospital stay in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(4.17% vs. 16.67%, P<0.05). Conclusion Enteral nutrition care can effectively improve the postoperative nutritional status of patients with radical gastric cancer surgery, and reduce the incidence of complications.
