Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effect of different eyes care methods in prevention of ocular complications in coma patients. Methods Totally 90 coma patients were randomly divided into control group and study group, with 45 cases in each group. Different eyes care methods were applied for two groups. The incidence of eye complications was compared between two groups. Results The incidence of ocular complications in the control group was 15.56%, which was significantly higher than 51.11% in the study group(P<0.05). The corneal epithelial exfoliation at 3 and 5 days after operation in the study group was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Compared to polyethylene film coverage, the hydrogel eye mask is more effective in the eyes nursing of coma patients, which can reduce the incidence of corneal epithelial cell detachment and ocular complications.
