Effect of dilatation surgery of prostate on sexual function in benign prostatic hyperplasia patients

  • Objective To investigate the effect of dilatation surgery of prostate on sexual function in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods A total of 93 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia were divided into observation group and study group. The control group was treated with transurethral prostate plasma electrotomy, and the study group was transurethral prostate dilatation surgery. Results of erectile stiffness assessment(EHS), premature ejaculation index(IPE), erectile function score and indexing(ⅡEF-5), incidence of retrograde ejaculation, and ejaculation pain rate before and after surgery were compared. Results The postoperative EHS of the study group scored(3.19±0.25)points, IPE scored(37.12±10.10)points, ⅡEF-5 scored(17.91±4.82)points, retrograde ejaculation scored(1.86±0.51)points, ejaculation pain scored(1.77±0.64)points, which were significantly better than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with transurethral plasma resection of prostate, the effect of dilatation surgery of prostate has minor impact on sexual function.
