Objective To explore the effect of health education guidance based on Wechat platform on self-management ability and complications of hemodialysis in patients with maintenance hemodialysis (MHD).
Methods A total of 100 patients with MHD were randomly divided into control group (n=50) and observation group (n=50). The control group was given routine nursing and health education for hemodialysis, while the observation group was given hemodialysis health care based on Wechat platform on the basis of the control group. The intervention lasted for 6 months. The self-management ability, renal function indexes serum creatinine (Scr), urea nitrogen (BUN), albumin (ALB) and hemodialysis complications were observed before and after intervention between two groups.
Results After intervention, the scores of four dimensions of self-management ability in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05), and the levels of Scr, BUN and ALB were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The incidence rate of complications in the observation group was 12.00%, which was significantly lower than 30.00% in the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion The health guidance based on Wechat platform can effectively improve the self-management ability of MHD patients, improve renal function and reduce the incidence rate of hemodialysis complications.
