Objective To investigate the effect of local permeation of traditional Chinese medicine by ultrasound on swelling and pain in patients with fractures of extremities.
Methods A total of 240 patients with limb fractures were selected as research objects, among whom 48 patients with conservative treatment were randomly divided into observation group(n=24) and control group(n=24), and 192 patients with surgery therapies were randomly divided into observation group(n=98) and control group(n=94). All the patients were treated by ultrasound wave, the electrode patches in observation group was used after soaking in traditional Chinese medicine, while those in the control group was applied after normal saline injection. The degree of swelling and pain conditions at 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 after admission in patients with conservative treatment, at 2, 3, 4 d after admission as well as 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 after operation in those with surgeries were eraluated. Meanwhile, the satisfaction of these patients were recorded.
Results After ultrasound treatment, the observation group had significantly better Results in reduction of swelling, pain improvement and satisfaction of patients(P < 0.05).
Conclusion Local permeation of traditional Chinese medicine by ultrasound is prominent in efficacy.
