Efficiency of subtotal hysterectomy in treatment of patients with hysteromyoma

  •   Objective  To investigate the clinical effect of subtotal hysterectomy in treatment of patients with hysteromyoma.
Methods  Clinical materials of 150 patients with hysteromyoma were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients were divided into two groups according to the surgical method. The control group (n=75) was treated with total hysterectomy, while the study group (n=75) was treated with subtotal hysterectomy. Therapeutic effect was compared between two groups.
Results  After treatment, follicle-forming hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and estradiol (E2) was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The score of Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The maximum detrusor pressure and bladder compliance in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion  Application of subtotal hysterectomy can reduce the influence on ovarian function, sexual function and bladder function of patients with hysteromyoma.
