Objective To explore the application value of comfort nursing in treating respiratory failure patients with invasive mechanical ventilation in ICU.
Methods Totally 100 respiratory failure patients with invasive mechanical ventilation in ICU were randomly divided into control group and observation group, 50 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, while the observation group received comfort nursing. Respiratory function indexes (vital capacity, forced expiratory volume, peak airway pressure and tidal volume), nursing coordination degree, satisfaction degree and incidence rate of complications were compared between the two groups.
Results After nursing, the average forced expiratory volume, vital capacity and tidal volume of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group, and peak airway pressure was significantly lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05). The nursing cooperation degree and satisfaction degree of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group, and the incidence rate of complications was significantly lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion Comfort nursing can significantly improve the rehabilitation effect of respiratory failure patients with invasive mechanical ventilation in ICU, promote the recovery of respiratory function and reduce the incidence rate of complications.
