Effect of early nursing intervention for patients after laparoscopic myomectomy

  Objective  To investigate the effect of early nursing intervention on gastrointestinal function and physiological stress for patients undergoing laparoscopic myomectomy.

  Methods  A total of 60 patients with laparoscopic myomectomy in our department from January 2015 to May 2016 were selected as the control group, and were given routine nursing. Another 60 patients with the same surgery in our department from June 2016 to December 2017 were selected as observation group, and were conducted early nursing intervention on the basis of routine nursing. The gastrointestinal function and physiological stress were compared between the two groups.

  Results  The time to first defecation and first exhaust of the observation group were shorter, and the abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting were less than those of the control group(P < 0.05), and the gastrin level at 24 h after the operation was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). The levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), leukocyte intervention 6 (IL-6) and cortisol (COR) at 24 hours after operation in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05).

  Conclusion  Early nursing intervention can alleviate the physiological stress reaction of patients undergoing laparoscopic myomectomy, promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function, and reduce abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting.
