Analysis value of rigid internal fixation in treatment of patients with oral and maxillofacial surgery

  •   Objective  To explore the value of rigid internal fixation in treatment of patients with oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Methods  Totally 120 patients with maxillofacial fractures were divided into two groups, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine interosseous wire ligation and fixation, while the study group was treated with rigid internal fixation. The patients were followed up for 6 months, and the efficacy was compared between the two groups.
Results  The excellent and good rate of treatment in the study group was 96.67%, which was significantly higher than 83.33% in the control group (P < 0.05). The hospitalization time and fracture healing time in the study group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The incidence rate of postoperative complications in the study group was 1.67%, which was significantly lower than 13.33% in the control group (P=0.037).
Conclusion  Application of rigid internal fixation is effective in the treatment ofpatients with maxillofacial fracture, which can enhance the curative effect, shorten the hospitalization time and fracture healing time, and has fewer complications.
