Efficacy of cervical dilatation balloon combinedwith oxytocin in labor induction induced by full-term pregnant oligohydramnios

  •   Objective  To observe the effect of cervical dilatation balloon combined with oxytocin on labor induction induced by full-term pregnant oligohydramnios.
Methods  A total of 86 full-term pregnant women with oligohydramnios were divided into cervical dilatation balloon combined with oxytocin induction group (study group, n=43) and oxytocin group (control group, n=43). The cervical ripening effects were compared between the two groups. The cesarean section rate and total labor time were recorded. The maternal adverse reactions and perinatal outcomes were observed.
Results  The total effective rate of cervical ripening in study group was higher, and the cesarean section rate and total labor time were lower than that in control group (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in the total maternal adverse reactions rate and the indicators of perinatal outcomes between the two groups (P>0.05).
Conclusion  Cervical dilatation balloon combined with oxytocin can significantly improve the cervical ripening effects, reduce the cesarean section rate, and shorten the total labor time, and it will not increase the maternal-infant risk.
