Analysis on the results of 4 682 females with high-risk human papillomavirus infection in Yangzhou

  •   Objective  To investigate the infection rate, subtypes and distribution characteristics of human papilloma virus (HPV) women in Yangzhou.
Methods  A retrospective analysis was conducted on 4 682 female patients treated at Northern Jiangsu People′s Hospital from May to September 2018. The fluorogenic quantitative PCR was used to detect high-risk HPV typing in cervical exfoliated cells and the results were statistically analyzed.
Results  A total of 936 positive samples were screened out in 4 682 subjects, the positive rate was 19.99%, among whom 718 cases with single infection (76.71%) and 218 with multiple infection (23.29%) were included. The common subtypes of high-risk HPV infection were HPV 52, 16, 58 and 51, with the positive rate of 25.00% (234/936), 20.73% (194/936), 16.67% (156/936) and 9.94% (93/936), respectively. The infection rates of women in different age groups showed significant differences (P < 0.05), and the higher positive rates distributed in age groups in descending sequence were as follows: 61~70 years old(32.00%), 51~60 years old(26.32%) and ≤20 years old(21.43%).
Conclusion  The main HPV infection is single infection in Yangzhou. Common HPV subtypes are 52, 16, 58, 51, 39, and the patients among age groups have differed HPV subtypes.
