Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of behavioral intervention therapy in male obese patients with overactive bladder (OAB).
Methods A total of 32 male obese patients with OAB admitted to our hospital were selected as control group, given routine drug treatment and nursing intervention. Another 34 male obese patients with OAB admitted to our hospital were selected as observation group, given behavioral therapy on the basis of the control group. The urination, changes of symptoms and quality of life of two groups after 3 months of intervention were compared.
Results After 3 months of intervention, the scores of Bladder Hyperactivity Symptom Scale(OABSS)and urination behavior in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05). After 3 months of intervention, the body mass index of the observation group was lower, and the quality of life score was higher than that of the control group(P < 0.05).
Conclusion Behavior therapy can significantly improve the urination of obese men with OAB, alleviate clinical symptoms and improve the quality of life.
